Songtexte
Mit diesen Song im Ohr bin ich gestern mit offenem Schiebedach nach Hause gefahren
This one goes out to the ones in need
This one goes out to the sinner and the cynical
This ain’t about no apology
This road was paved by the hopeless and the hungry
This road was paved by the winds of change
Walking beside the guilty and the innocent
How will you raise your hand when they call your name?
Yeah, yeah, yeah
We weren’t born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
And that your saints and sinners bleed
We weren’t born to follow
You gotta stand up for what you believe
Let me hear you say
Yeah, yeah, yeah, ooh, yeah
This ones about anyone who does it differently
This ones about the one who curses and spits
This ain’t about our living in a fantasy
This ain’t about giving up or giving in
Yeah, yeah, yeah
We weren’t born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
And that your saints and sinners bleed
We weren’t born to follow
You gotta stand up for what you believe
Let me hear you say
Yeah, yeah, yeah, ooh, yeah
Let me hear you say
Yeah, yeah, yeah, ooh, yeah
Guitar!
We weren’t born to follow
Come on and get up off your knees
When life is a bitter pill to swallow
You gotta hold on to what you believe
Believe that the sun will shine tomorrow
And that your saints and sinners bleed
We weren’t born to follow
You gotta stand up for what you believe
Let me hear you say
Yeah, yeah, yeah, ooh, yeah
Let me hear you say
Yeah, yeah, yeah, ooh, yeah
I worked late but you don’t wait up
My bones ache and I’m cleaning the place up
Sometimes I don’t even know I careI sit down take off my make-up
I lay down but you don’t wake up
Sometimes I wonder if you know I’m thereI can’t remember the last time you
Told me i’m beautiful, and I can’t remember
Last time you said anything at allI’m a woman
A woman with a heart
And I deserve your all
I’m not some girl who don’t know what she wants
I’m a woman
And I need to be touched
And I need to be loved
’cause being just your woman is not enoughNow I hope that you don’t wake up
When it’s too late to make up
You’ll be the one that’s alone and that’s sadIn time you’ll find somebody
The truth is she’ll never be me
And that’s when you’re going to miss what we hadWhen all I really needed to hear was “you’re beautiful”
All I really needed to hear was anything at allI’m a woman
A woman with a heart
And I deserve your all
I’m not some girl who don’t know what she wants
I’m a woman
And I need to be touched
And I need to be loved
’cause being just your woman is not enoughI’m not your friend who only needs you sometimes
And if i’m your lady
You got to treat me like…I’m a woman
A woman with a heart
And I deserve your all
I’m not some girl who don’t know what she wants
I’m a woman
And I need to be touched
And I need to be loved
’cause being just your woman is not enoughA woman needs your heart
A woman needs your all
A woman needs your everything
I’m a woman
And I need to be touched
And I need to be loved
And I deserve your everything
I’m a woman
I’m a woman
I’m a woman
For every child that has been born there is a chance to shine,
And everyone can have a dream until the end of time,
So live for every moment as the world keeps turning round,
And lift your hands up to the sky and say it loud and proud,
\”I have been here, read my name, read my name! \”For every child that has been born there is a chance in life,
To try it all and be someone with what we have inside,
So don’t give up and don’t give in, just give it all instead,
And raise your voice above the crowd and let them know
You’ve said \”I have been here, read my name, read my name; With all I’ve got I’ve taken part, I’ve made a difference
To the world, I have been here just read my name!\”Endlessly amazing and inventive that we are, we dive the
Deepest oceans and we reach out for the stars,
And one day there will be a man across the universe,
Who’ll say \”I come from Planet Earth\” and these will
Be his words; \”I have been here, read my name, read my name; With all I’ve got I’ve taken part, I’ve made a
Difference to the world, I have been here, just read
My name !\”And when the darkness has to fall and comes the end
Of days, then lift your hands up to the sky and say it
Once again…..\”I have been here and I have taken part,
I’ve made a difference to the world I have been here,
Just read my name!\”\”I have been here…….just read my name.
I’ve taken part………..reach for the stars,
Across the universe…..we come from Planet Earth.Song: Chris de Burgh
